HIRAIDAI

Biography

Born on May 3rd, 1991, in Tokyo, HIRAIDAI was influenced by his father who loved guitar and surfing. HIRAIDAI became familiar with the ocean at an early age. He started gaining and interest in music around three years old after his grandmother gave him a ukulele. His memorable, sweet and gentle vocals and lyrics along with his catchy melodies make listeners relaxed and peaceful.

In 2011, he came under the spotlight when his song “ONE LOVE – Pacific Harmony” was selected as the official song of the “Honolulu Festival,” one of the biggest events in Hawaii.  In 2012, he released his first full album “ALOHA” which hit #1 on the iTunes chart. He was also selected as the “iTunes BEST OF 2012 J-POP best new artist.” He continued to release albums energetically and in 2015, he released the album “Slow & Easy” then embarked on a nationwide 12 city summer tour and later a fall tour titled, “More Slow & Easy” – selling out both tours. His concert tickets became an in-demand item.  In 2016, he released an album “Life is Beautiful” which hit #1 on the iTunes chart. From July he began the  “Live Tour 2016 – Life is Beautiful,” the biggest tour of his career covering 13 venues nationwide including his first hall-sized shows. The tour was sold out and showed overwhelming performances.

In November, he released an acoustic cover album “Love is Beautiful” and held the successful, sold-out tour “Premium Acoustic Tour 2016 – Love is Beautiful,” 14 shows nationwide including Billboard Live and Blue Note.  Also, the album “Life is Beautiful” was chosen as the best album of 2016 by iTunes/Apple Music staff.  The tour “Live Tour 2017 – LOCALS ONLY,” was held in 5 cities nationwide and sold out all shows. In July, he released his first album in a year, “ON THE ROAD.”  The tour “LIVE TOUR 2017 ON THE ROAD,” covering 13 venues nationwide including Tokyo International Forum Hall A, is being planned.

He continues to attract attention from various fields as a young artist with exceptional talent that is leading the genre of surf rock music.
