How we met:
We met up with Mama Gaye at Baaba Maal’s home outside Dakar on our first day in Senegal. He and a handful of other musicians took up instruments beneath Baaba’s mango tree and entranced us all with their performance. A master of the guitar, Mama Gaye’s musicianship is in a class all its own.
