We are proud to release a new video from our Live Outside series recently recorded and filmed in the ancient West African Village of Kirina, Mali. This performance features Mamadou Diabaté and Sayba Diabaté on the traditional instruments, calabash and kora, as well as PFC Band member, Roberto Luti, on steel guitar. This village is the home of one of our PFC Foundation music programs—Ecole de Musique de Kirina, and also holds the roots to traditional Mali music and the blues.
"Although it is one of the poorest economic places on earth, I have never seen happier people in my life and this teaches us that it's not about what we have or don't have but rather what we do with what we have and how we treat each other," says PFC co-founder Mark Johnson.
Let's use this performance as an inspiration to create a better world around us; one that understands that no matter how many things in life divide us, they are never as strong as the power of music to bring us back together. One heart and one song at a time.
