Fully Fullwood

Kingston, Jamaica

Fully Fullwood considers music his "natural high".

As a child in Jamaica, Fullwood loved music and knew he wanted to pursue it professionally. From those beginnings, Fullwood's passion and work ethic has paid off tremendously. For well over 30 years, Fullwood has been instrumental in shaping the sounds of Jamaican music.

The originator and leader of the "Soul Syndicate Band", Fullwood also has the distinction of being a member of reggae superstar Peter Tosh's famous band, "Word, Sound and Power", whom he recorded with and toured with until Tosh's untimely passing.

A few artists Fullwood has worked and recorded with include: Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Michael Rose, Mikey Dread, The Mighty Diamonds, Black Uhuru, Joe Higgs, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Frankie Paul, Big Youth, U-Roy, Sister Carol, John Holt, Judy Mowatt, Ken Boothe, Andrew Tosh and Delroy Wilson.

Fullwood is still in high demand today and frequently reunites with members of his Fully Fullwood Band and Soul Syndicate Band to back artists such as U-Roy, Big Youth, Cornel Campbell, Ken Boothe, Martin Campbell, Earl Zero and Ken Parker at shows and festivals. He has also toured extensively in recent years with his Tosh Meets Marley show and can occasionally be seen on stage at some of the reggae festivals and shows in the western US. In recent years, Fullwood has also recorded three albums as a solo artist, which are available at several online music stores including Amazon, CD Baby, and iTunes.

When not performing, Fully's passion for music has successfully translated to coaching and mentoring other musicians and vocalists. Fully spends a considerable amount of time playing, recording and mixing new music with up-and-coming artists. He enjoys helping them prepare for their future in this complicated and sometimes challenging business.

You can see Fully Fullwood playing live every Sunday with Tony Chin, Rock Deadrick, and Bruno Coon at Golden Sails PCH Club in Long Beach CA. They are jammin' to end youth homelessness with Fully's nonprofit organization, Reggae For A Reason.
