Mambo Sawa Sawa: PFCF students and staff in Rwanda and Uganda come together to record a song

About this Video

Mambo Sawa Sawa is a quite popular East African gospel song by Ruth Wamuyu (Kenya).

The titles literally means "Things are getting better" and this song has been one of the classic tunes for the vocal classes at the Ubuntu Music Program in Kigali for several years. After initial recordings in Kigali, the song was sent to The Salam Music Program in Uganda where the PFCF students wrote a verse and performed on the song. The verse they created is in Juba Arabic, from South Sudan, which is the language spoken by most refugees in Bidibidi.

We also want to give a special shout out to Irene Nishimwe, young guitar teacher at the Ubuntu music Program for his great performance on the song!
