Rocio Marron

Rocio is a violinist, violist, who has ventured into the world of singing and songwriting. After falling in love with music as a young girl and attending the Colburn School for the performing arts in High School, Rocio studied performance violin at USC’s Thornton School of Music.

Rocio has made a name for herself as being one of Los Angeles’ exceptional improvising violinists. This versatile artist has played in styles ranging from Country to Mariachi. She learned to improvise in her early years through the rock and country bands that she played with in college, and later went on to become one of the most sought after violinists in the Latin music scene. In the Summer of 2017 composer Germaine Franco asked Rocio to perform solo violin on “Proud Corazón” in the Disney Pixar film “Coco.” Rocio also played violin in the Orchestra on the entire Coco soundtrack.

Rocio has toured with Marc Anthony, Los Lobos and Quetzal; performed with Rihanna, Usher, Adam Levine, Stevie Wonder, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Hudson, Blake Shelton, Randy Newman, Lionel Richie, Pharrell Williams, Alessia Cara, Michael Buble, Kelly Clarkson, Kamasi Washington, Dave Grohl, Glen Hansard, Aloe Blacc, Josh Groban, Lila Downs and Cuban bass legend Cachao; recorded with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Raphael Saadiq and GRAMMY® Nominated Caravana Cubana, among others. She is a violinist, string arranger and writer on the 2013 GRAMMY® Award-winning album “Imaginaries” by Quetzal. Rocio has also arranged and recorded as musical director for the GRAMMY® Award-winning Mariachi Divas, and she’s been a featured soloist with Ozomatli at the Hollywood Bowl. She has recorded on several Son Jarocho albums including Son De Madera’s “Las Orquestas Del Dia”.

In terms of work for film and television, Rocio has recorded for several major motion pictures including Jordan Peele’s “Us”, “Tag” starring Jeremy Renner and Ed Helms, “Christopher Robin” starring Ewan McGregor, Disney Pixar’s “Coco”, “Blow” starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, “Dance with Me” starring Vanessa Williams and “The Rugrats Movie”. She has performed on television programs such as The Young and the Restless, Saturday Night Live, NBC’s A Very Pentatonix Christmas, The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Tonight Show. Rocio has also performed on The GRAMMY® Awards as a violin soloist, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, NBC’s The Voice, American Idol, Little Big Shots, Forever Young, Carson Daly, American Music Awards, ALMA Awards and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. She appeared on Jane the Virgin, The X Factor on FOX, MTV Video Music Awards and Radio Music Awards. She was invited to record in the 2013 Maroon 5 music video for their single "Daylight" as a featured musician from Playing for Change.

Rocio can be seen performing with Entre Mujeres, which is a collaboration of women making music across borders. Rocio is a current Adjunct Faculty Member of California Lutheran University. She is a former faculty member of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music where she taught violin, viola and Guitar.
