Anna Daley Young
Anna Daley Young is a Boston born singer-songwriter whose roots in music trace back to her childhood home in Weymouth, MA, where her father’s basement jam zone introduced her to the sounds of The Cure, Steve Miller Band, and Counting Crows. At 12, she sang before an audience for the first time, igniting a passion that would grow into a career.
Since writing her first song at 19, Anna has earned widespread recognition across New England and beyond for her emotive vocals, raw lyricism, and cinematic songwriting style. Her debut album Go My Own Way (2023) opened the doors to major performances and collaborations. As she continues to build momentum, Anna is gaining recognition not only throughout the East Coast but also in Los Angeles, where her presence and collaborations are expanding her audience and influence.
Anna Daley Young was named Performer of the Year at the 2024 New England Music Awards and received nominations for Album of the Year in 2023 from the same organization, as well as Best Country Artist from the 2023 Boston Music Awards. She has taken the stage at major venues and festivals including Levitate Music Festival in Massachusetts, Hotel Café in Los Angeles, Ocean State of Mind Fest in Rhode Island, and Lincoln Theatre in North Carolina, where she opened for the Old 97s. Additional performances include the Ruth Gordon Amphitheater in Quincy, Femme Fest in Boston, and Down the Hatch Music Festival in North Carolina. Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with artists such as Phillip Phillips, Rhett Miller, Melt, Chase Wright, Pat McGee, and Dan Blakeslee.
Her second album Queen of Chaos, produced in collaboration with LA based producer Skye Abrams and renowned string arranger Michelle Packman, is due out this fall. It represents Anna’s most personal and ambitious project to date. Rooted in raw emotion and cinematic soundscapes, the album captures the intensity of navigating life and artistry in a world that often demands structure from something inherently unstructured.
Drawing inspiration from her own journey, balancing creative dreams, personal growth, and professional chaos, Anna describes Queen of Chaos as a reflection of the resilience it takes to pursue meaning in a disordered world. “To be an artist in this society sometimes feels like trying to put shape on something that’s not supposed to have shape,” she says. The title track encapsulates that sentiment with the lyric: “And they call her the queen 'cause she knows how to dance in a land that is lost, the queen of chaos.”
Recorded across Boston and LA, Queen of Chaos is a powerful collaboration. Michelle’s lush string arrangements, Skye’s modern and textured production, and Anna’s storytelling come together to form a cinematic sound that nods to her favorite influences while remaining uniquely her own. One of the album’s standout tracks, Blue, holds deep personal significance for Anna and showcases the emotive power of the team’s combined artistry. The lead single from Queen of Chaos will debut on June 27, with the full album release anticipated in October 2025.
