Guga Machado
Among the attributes associated with percussionist Guga Machado, versatility and dexterity are the most important. Born in 1983, the musician from São Paulo has played with bands and artists from rock, funk, pop, electronica, reggae, children, and various other musical genres.
The amalgamation of experiences and influences can be heard on his first album, Mafagafo Jazz released in November 2012. Based on this album, Guga partnered with choreographer Sueli Guerra da Cia da Idéia (RJ) and set up the show Batuque Contemporaneo, who signs the direction together with the choreographer and the musical direction. In addition, Guga continues his personal project, “Live PA”, which plays live percussion over electronic music bases. In this journey, his partners are the great DJ's and producers Deeplick and Ramilson Maia.
In addition to being one of the pioneers in the use of hang drum in Brazil, Guga uses several instruments with great property such as the cajón, tambourine, congas, bongos, derbak and is distinguished by good taste and sensitivity when choosing the instruments and effects that he puts in each song.
