Carl “C-Wyya” Edwards

Biography

Carl “C-Wyya” Edwards was born in Kingston, Jamaica on November 13th 1973. He started playing the bass at the tender age of sixteen in church where he became the choir leader. Later on, he started a band call LIVE WYYA and subsequently began touring the world playing for international reggae acts like Greogory Isaacs, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Shaggy, and Marcia Griffiths, just to name a few. Carl and his band have won over ten awards locally and internationally.

How we met:

I was introduced to Playing For Change by Damian Jr. Gong Marley drummer, Courtney Bam Diedrick, last year and it was a great experience and a pleasure working with them.

When and how did you get involved with music?

I got involved with music in church at age twelve and was introduced to it by my step father.

What does music mean to you?

Music means the world to me, it’s my life, it’s my everything.
