Nikki Burt
Born in Jamaica, Nikki Burt started singing when she was only twelve years old, while still at primary school. She was part of a folk music group at school and throughout her childhood, she was also greatly involved in her church and sang solo every Sunday to the congregation. Once in high school, she became the lead vocalist of a band called "Fresh" - for three years the band was extremely active, holding a resident position at the Fern Hill Club in Portland. Soon Nikki discovered that there were more opportunities for her on Jamaica's north coast: taking up residency in Ocho Rios, Nikki was discovered by the famous Peter Fraser Band, whom she worked with for several years as a resident at the prestigious Mallards Beach Resort and the Sans Souci Hotel. During this period, Burt developed her stage presence and expanded her vocal talent.
Nikki has released some singles like Nobody Loves Me, I Don't Know, and Lovers Plane on the Ingredience Production label. The singer has also worked with numerous entertainers, like Nadine Sutherland, Everton Blender, Dorothy Moore, Black Uhuru, Jean Chandler, Mikey Spice, Bushman and, recently, she worked with Buju Banton as a background vocalist and opening act. Nikki has also held the #3 position on the Choice FM music charts in London with a cover version of Jennifer Lopez's If you want my loving.
