The creation of the Playing For Change Band has helped us to realize a dream of uniting the musicians we met during our journey on one stage. The result is a unique fusion of influences and talents in constant evolution since the first concerts in 2008. Grandpa Elliott, legendary street musician from New Orleans, sings alongside Clarence Bekker (Netherlands), Titi Tsira (South Africa), Tal Ben Ari “Tula” (Israel), Jason Tamba (Congo), and Mermans Mosengo (Congo). The rhythm section features Louis Mhlanga (Zimbabwe) on lead guitar, Papa Orbe Ortiz (Cuba) on the bass, Peter Bunetta (USA) on drums, Roberto Luti (Italy) on guitar and on keyboards Keiko Komaki (Japan).

The Playing For Change Band has collaborated with artists such as Toots & the Maytals, Ziggy Marley, Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffett, Babaa Maal, and Tinariwen. The band has been featured on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and has played for audiences of over 30,000 people in Brazil. The CD/DVD Playing for Change Live (2010) introduces the band in concert during a tour of the USA and Europe. Grandpa Elliott released a solo album,”Sugar Sweet”, in 2009, and Clarence Bekker released “Old Soul”, his first solo album, in 2012.

After extensive world tours from 2010 through 2013 across Brazil, Europe, Morocco, Australia, and the USA, the Playing For Change Band is back on stage for a world tour in 2014 with shows throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Australia.

This is truly a worldwide band performing all over the globe.
