Enzo Buono was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and came to the United States in 1991 settling in Chicago. Quickly forming his own band, Enzo started playing in all the local clubs, opening up for artists like Liza Minnelli, Peter Frampton, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, and ending up with his first US record deal with Polygram.
In 2000, Enzo traveled to India to attend a spiritual retreat where he met Ananda Giri, a Monk from the Oneness University, who helped him begin a new music adventure, recording artists such as Rajhesh Vaidhya, Venkat, Kamalakar, Saroya, Punya Srinivas, The Oneness Choir, Hariharan, Maneesh de Moor and two-time Grammy Award Winning artist from the band Sin Bandera, Noel Schajris. Thus far, Enzo has produced more than 16 albums in India for the record label Kosmic Music.
In 2001, Enzo moved to Los Angeles and created the band Los Pinguos with his brother, Adrian Buono. Los Pinguos started performing for the crowds on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade and soon after appeared on Ed McMahon’s Star Search. With its’ mesmerizing blend of Latin guitars, Los Pinguos, has shared a stage with artists such as Ozomatli, Yerba Buena, Charlie Zaa, Pablo Montero, Paul Anka, Plácido Domingo, Charly Garcia and famed Argentinean rockers Bersuit Vergarabat. Having recorded three critically acclaimed CDs, Los Pinguos is a much sought after fixture on the California music scene, performing in festivals, on television, at the Hollywood Bowl, and at the Sundance Film Festival.
Enzo also continues his passion for performing live with his own band called TV Lounge. Dedicated solely to performing famous television themes from the 1970’s, TV Lounge has captured the attention of the Hollywood film & music industry, playing everything from private parties to intimate club performances. Enzo is currently producing albums in India and is fully dedicated to the Playing for Change movement.
In 2001, Enzo became involved with the Playing for Change group while performing wth Los Pinguos on the streets of Santa Monica where PFC was working on their very first movie, “A Cinematic Discovery of Street Music.” A year later, Enzo became part of the Playing for Change crew, serving as a music producer, recording engineer, cameraman, and photographer. Traveling the world over, Enzo has had the chance to work with artists like Bono, Manu Chao, Jackson Brown, Pancho Sanchez, America, Keb Mo, and Los Lobos; while helping to create the Playing for Change motion picture and CD.
